story of showing departed relatives by vedavyas to pandavas by grace of goddess bhuvaneshwari

Yudhishthira became the king of Hastinapur after the battle of Kurukshetra.  Dhritarashtra lived his painful life by staying there for eighteen years.  One day Dhritarashtra decided to spend the rest of his life in the forest and told Arjun his decision.  He asked for some money from Yudhishthira to pay obeisance to his sons.  Yudhishthira asked his brothers and mother and gave money to Dhritarashtra for the Shraddha of his sons.  Bhima was against this decision of Yudhishthira.  Dhritarashtra paid homage to his sons and went to the forest with Gandhari.  Kunti and Vidur also went to the forest with them.  Dhritarashtra, Vidur, Gandhari and Kunti made a hut in the forest and engaged in the practice of yoga.  Six years passed in this way.

When, like this, Dhritarashtra, Gandhari, Kunti and Vidur spent six years leading ascetic lives, Yudhishthira once told his brothers that I have seen Mother Kunti in a dream.  They are in the forest and the mother’s body is very weak.  It comes to my mind that I go to the forest and meet my mother.  There I will also meet Dhritarashtra, Vidur and Mata Gandhari.  If you want to come with me, you can come.  After listening to Yudhishthira, Draupadi, Subhadra, Uttara, the remaining four Pandavas and many other people went to the forest to meet Kunti.  Everyone met each other after going to the ashram.

Not seeing Vidur in the ashram, Yudhishthira asked Dhritarashtra about him.  Dhritarashtra said, Vidur must be meditating on Lord Vishnu sitting on the banks of the Ganges.  The next day when Yudhishthira was touring on the banks of the Ganges, he saw Vidur ji absorbed in meditation there.  Yudhishthira went to him and bowed to him, as soon as Yudhishthira’s voice came in Vidur ji’s ear, a sharp sound came out from his mouth and entered Yudhishthira’s face, as they were both incarnations of Dharmaraja.  When Yudhishthir wanted to fire Vidur’s body, a voice came from the sky, do not fire his body.  Vidur was a great man.  Yudhishthira was very sad and went to the ashram and told everyone the news of Vidur ji’s death, which made everyone very sad.

At that time, Satyavati’s sons Vyasa, Kripacharya, Narada and many other sages came to meet Yudhishthira at the ashram.  Then Kunti said to Vyas, I saw my son Karna only at birth, I wish that I would see him once.  Subhadra, Draupadi and Gandhari also expressed their desire to meet their sons in front of Vyas ji.  Hearing all these things, Vyas ji praised Goddess Bhuvaneshwari and prayed to reveal the kings and heroes who were killed in Kurukshetra to the ashram people.

Hearing the prayer of Vyas ji, Goddess Bhuvaneshwari was very pleased and revealed all the kings and heroes who were killed in the battle of Kurukshetra.  After all the people saw their relatives whole heartedly, Vyas ji also arranged for the return of all those kings and heroes with the grace of Goddess.  All Pandavas and others praise Vyas ji and return to Hastinapur.  On the third day, Yudhishthira and the Pandavas came to know that due to fire in the forest, Kunti, Gandhari and Dhritarashtra died.  Everyone was very sad to hear that.

Hearing this story of Goddess Bhuvaneshwari, all the sins of humans are washed away and such a person becomes an object of the grace of Goddess.
